Call for support of the Devrimci Işçi, Demokrat Türkiye and Türkei Information digital archives

Devrimci Işçi is an influential socio- politial movement, which was organised in Europe and other continents from 1979 until the mid- 1990's. Founded by sympathisers of the Turkish Devrimci Yol movement living in Germany and Europe, Devrimci Işçi was supported and carried by workers, students, women and refugees, fighting in various social and political fields, such as:

• The fight against racism and capitalist exploitation for equal rights and freedom in Germany and Europe.

• The broad struggle for democracy and socialism especially against the fascist military junta of the 1980s in Turkey.

- The journals Türkei Information and Devrimci Işçi organised a broad solidarity movement in the fight of the Turkish and Kurdish people against the fascist regime, not limiting its support to Devrimci Yol only.

- Devrimci Işçi organised a theoretical and practical contribution to the reorganisation of the social and revolutionary movement in Turkey, which can not be underestimated at all.

Without the knowledge about Devrimci Işçiö Demokrat Türkiye and Türkei Information, as well as the Turkey Committees neither the struggle against the fascist military junta, nor the contribution to the fight against racism and exploitation in Europe can be understood in its entity. This is a historical fact!

For the historical contribution of Devrimci Işçi and Türkei Information not to be forgotten, we carry their work to the digital sphere. These will show the regularly published journals, flyers and other documents, which document not only their anti-fascist, anti-racist, anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist claims, but also accompany and bear witness to an entire historical period from the perspective of a migrant organisation.

The digital archive of Devrimci Işçi and Türkei Information is a contribution to the history of social movements and shall contribute to the research and investigation of researchers and others interested. This archive is explicitly interested and welcomes academic researches.

Of course, the digital archive of Devrimci Işçi is not able to reflect on even a portion of the huge collective work Devrimci Işçi and Türkei Information was able to produce. A work of tens of thousands of people, having lived and fought in cities throughout Europe and even in Lybia and Australia. We appreciate this hard work. This website has the function of an archive only and no other purpose or claim.

The digital archive of Devrimci Işçi has to be completed. All those who have been involved are kindly invited to send us documents they currently hold (written documents and pictures) and to share their stories and experiences in the cities and countries they live in.
